Hi! I'm the Senior Manager of Member Engagement for the Special Libraries Association.
My love for marketing and community stems from a childhood surrounded by entrepreneurship -- growing up in rural PA, my parents owned an art gallery, a restaurant, and a shopping village where they rented out restored (and moved) buildings to other locally owned shops. Being immersed in this atmosphere from a young age, I've always had the mindset of, "How do we provide the most value to our customers?"
Being the youngest of three, I have a naturally intuitive nature that was developed by watching, and learning from, my two "louder" siblings. This trait has played a significant role in my growth as a marketing professional, as well as being surrounded by the creative; my dad is an artist and always encouraged us to think outside the box. With these things in mind, to me marketing is about more than an end result; it's about building relationships. I love people and learning about how they think and what motivates them.
I'm a fan of exercising, coffee, happy hours, trying new foods, exploring, shopping (fashion is my vice), and traveling. I love watching the Voice and anything on HGTV, and my husband and I binge watched all seasons of Breaking Bad within two months while we were dating. I love drama and action movies, and of course -- the occasional chick flick. I can read almost anything - when I have time!
