Message from the SLA Carolinas Chapter

On March 23, 2016, the North Carolina General Assembly passed the now infamous HB2 just one month after officials in Charlotte moved to add gay and transgender people to the city's list of classes protected against discrimination. Immediately, NC began to see the repercussions of its actions from companies, musicians, conferences, and many others who do not wish to be associated with the discriminatory actions taken by the state legislature. Although the bill was appealed and replaced a year later, there is still much work to be done in North Carolina. The Carolinas Chapter understands this and it is our hope that, very soon, NC will become inclusive and welcoming to the entire LGBT+ community. Until that day, we stand with you, in Charlotte for SLA Annual Conference 2020 and beyond.

We'll go with you.
