Information and Guidelines for Poster Submitters
SLA is accepting additional poster submissions! The new deadline for submitting your abstract is August 20 at 11:59 pm EST. Submit Your Abstract
Submissions within any topic relevant to librarians and information professionals are welcome.
Both SLA members and non-members are invited to submit.
The review and selection process will be managed by SLA member review committees organized by topic area. Selection results for those who submit in July/August will be sent out to submitters by mid September. For those who previously submitted, notifications are going out in July.
Accepted poster authors will receive a discounted registration rate for the conference.* A discount code will be sent out following the selection process. At least one poster author must be registered for the conference in order to participate.
Posters will be displayed online. Attendees will vote on best overall poster as well as several sub-award categories.** The winner for the best overall poster will receive a complimentary one-year SLA membership (a $220 value) for up to five authors. Authors must be registered for the conference in order to receive the complimentary membership.
Guidelines for poster dimensions will be provided.
Submission Guidelines and Review Criteria
Abstracts should include the objective or research question and methods used. Results and conclusions are not required in the submission, but should be included in the final poster. The description must be substantial enough to let the review committee see what your project is about and the expected value of the research.
Submissions will be evaluated on the following criteria:
Clarity – The objectives of the research presented are clearly described.
Significance – The objectives of the research make a significant contribution to the library and information profession.
Methods – The methods used (including the design, implementation, and analysis) are appropriate to achieving the objectives of the research.
Presentation – The abstract is logical, interesting, clearly written, and free of grammatical or typographical errors.

**Please note separate poster sessions will not be held by SLA communities (divisions) this year but community subawards for posters may be awarded.
