    Good Morning

On behalf of the Emergency Preparedness and Recovery Advisory Council (, I am asking for any best practices or tools that you are using, creating or deploying in your library or information center in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.

We have an opportunity, as information professionals, to be a real service to our respective institutions as a clearinghouse for the very best  in thought leadership and best practices to help deal with this outbreak.

Thank you advance for your contributions.

Chair, Emergency Preparedness and Recovery Advisory Council.

We use Slack for our team to communicate throughout the day as we work remotely.  We have different channels set up for different topics; so that discussions are somewhat organized.  It allows us to still feel connected as we all work at home.

    Hello Eugene,

We are not a library or information centre, but Calgary Economic Development's COVID-19 Guidance and Resources webpage is an external resource for businesses and community.

All levels of government in Canada and many companies and organizations are developing similar resource pages. One best practice is scanning daily media and policy releases from Federal, Provincial and Municipal newsrooms. We post these announcements, or programs within the announcements, along with general news, to the webpage on a daily basis. Some organizations are including events and webinars in their COVID-19 resource pages. Our content approach may change over time, so you may want to save as a PDF if the current format is useful.

Please self-isolate to help flatten the COVID-19 curve of transmission.

    Take care,
