The SLA Business and Finance (B&F) Community is pleased to invite expressions of interest, nominations, and self nominations from our members for leadership positions across our committees and sections!

With this call, we encourage you to think about how you can contribute to the B&F Community.  We know you have an interest in the welfare of the group and its direction. As we expect to finalize the ballot in early Dec, please reply by midnight ET on Friday, December 3rd.

Executive Board Positions:

Chair-Elect (1 year term, 2 year commitment)

• Will serve as Chair in 2023.

• Responsible for leading the Business & Finance Community event planning for the annual conference.

• Supports the Chair in their duties, including maintaining momentum, running meetings in the Chair's absence, and accomplishing delegated tasks.

Secretary (2 year term)

• Leads taking notes, preparation of minutes, and other documentation and record-keeping efforts.

• Assists Chair and Chair-Elect with correspondence, including especially the budget and annual conference planning processes.

Committee Chair Positions:

• Membership Chair (2 year term): Leads membership and recruitment efforts for the community, including efforts to grow and retain B&F members. Serves on the Business & Finance Advisory Board.

• Professional Development Chair (2 year term): Leads the planning of professional development programming outside of the annual conference. Serves on the Business & Finance Advisory Board.

Section Chair Positions:

• Advertising & Marketing Section Chair (1 year term): Coordinates the planning of conference and non-conference events and efforts for professionals interested in these industries/disciplines.

• College & University Business Libraries (CUBL) Section Chair or Chair Elect (1 year term): Coordinates the planning of conference and non-conference events and efforts for professionals in higher education. Serves on the Business & Finance Advisory Board.

• Corporate Information Centers (CIC) Section Chair (1 year term): Coordinates the planning of conference and non-conference events and efforts for professionals in corporate. Serves on the Business & Finance Advisory Board.
