Purdue University Libraries and School of Information Studies (PULSIS) welcomes applicants for the position of Business Information Specialist (BIS) at the Parrish Library of Management & Economics. This faculty position offers the chance to teach for-credit courses in both the Libraries and School of Information Studies and the Krannert School of Management and engage with faculty and students in an embedded environment. The BIS is one of three faculty librarians working with the Krannert School of Management, as well as Hospitality & Tourism Management, and entrepreneurship and business programs across campus. We are seeking innovative, confident, and creative applicants committed to teaching, outreach, and research in a dynamic and collaborative environment. Successful Candidate Will • Develop and teach specialized classes and workshops that incorporate active-learning methods within an experimental education environment and flexible information literacy instruction rooms, optimized to support collaborative and team-based learning. • Provide in-person, phone, and virtual consultations. Note: This position is not required to staff a reference desk. • Commitment to diversity and to promoting a multicultural environment for learning. • Collaborate with Libraries faculty and staff to develop instruction materials. • Develop interdisciplinary collaborations and research opportunities with faculty in other campus disciplines to meet the University's strategic directions. • Must meet requirements for promotion and tenure.

Salary and benefits:
Salary commensurate with experience in the context of Purdue University's salary structure.
Faculty tenure-track position with a Academic Year (AY) appointment. Rank of assistant professor. Start-up funds in support of research are provided for computer/software/equipment, for travel/professional development, and for a half time graduate assistant for two years. Purdue provides a generous fringe benefit package that includes retirement benefits as well as health, disability and life insurance, and tuition support for employee, children, and spouse. Purdue University is responsive to the needs of dual career couples.
Relocation funding will be available and discussed on a case-by-case basis.
