Just a reminder that registration for the Midwest Business Librarian Summit is active and will be closing on October 4th. Click here to register if you plan to attend.

The Midwest Business Librarian Summit Committee is thrilled to announce the 2021 Midwest Business Librarian Summit (MBLS). MBLS is an annual event to gather together academic, corporate, and public business librarians to discuss outreach, instruction, resources, and all things business librarian! This year's Summit will be on October 11, 2021, from 10am-4pm EST at Purdue University. Learn more here.

At this point, we have an exciting lineup planned. We will be hearing from different vendors as well as from our fellow colleagues. The lightning talk presentations include the following topics:

    • AI, ML, and Algorithms, Oh My: How Technology Affects Search Results
    • Connecting During COVID: Creating and Sustaining Communities in HyFlex and Virtual Settings
    • Creating a Values-Based Collections Evaluation Rubric
    • Developing a Library Market Research Service
    • Investing in Financial Literacy Education: Purdue Libraries' Quest to Promote Financial Wellness
    • A Look into the Impact of Bloomberg Anywhere at the University of Notre Dame
    • PhD Candidates and Solving Data Conundrums
    • Reefer Madness in Business: What's the Library's Potential "Stash" for the 420 Industry?
    • When Traditional Outreach Isn't Working: How to Reach Undergraduate Students

Breakfast and boxed lunches will be served. There is also an optional happy hour for attendees after the MBLS events.

    COVID Precautions:
    • We ask that attendees are vaccinated to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
    • Per the Protect Purdue precautions, attendees must wear masks.
    • The event is limited to a set capacity of attendees.
    • Boxed lunches will be served.
    • Lunch will be offered outdoors under a tent. Attendees can enjoy lunch under the tent or choose a seating area around campus during the lunch break.

We look forward to seeing you at MBLS 2021 soon!
