A COLORING BOOK FOR LOS ANGELES
BOOK LAUNCH | | | | The Octavia Lab's adult coloring book, More Hidden Heroes, Historic Places: A Coloring Book for Los Angeles, is now available. To celebrate this publication, BEST Friends is hosting a virtual book launch on Saturday, November 6, at 1:00 p.m. This event highlights the work of the Octavia Lab staff, in coordination with the L.A. Conservancy, and showcases little known heroes and locations in the Los Angeles area. Featured at the book launch will be representatives of Julia Bogany, Miriam Wallace, Dr. Patricia Bath, Ignacio "Nacho" Nava, Jr., and Hashem Ahmad Alshilleh.
The book launch will be streamed on the library's YouTube channel and on Facebook Live. Reservations for this free event are available at Eventbrite.
Distributed and promoted through BEST Friends, More Hidden Heroes, Historic Places: A Coloring Book for Los Angeles brings fifteen all new pages to color. Each picture is accompanied by detailed, educational descriptions of the people and places pictured, as well as related suggested activities. It is currently available for purchase through Amazon.com and the Library Store.
