It is with sincerest regrets I have to inform you of the passing of the beloved and dynamic Kaycee Hale.  She was Librarian for the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandizing (FIDM) in Los Angeles for many years and a very active SLA and SCC Chapter member. An interview with Kaycee appeared in Information Outlook in the March 2000 issue that will give a flavor of the kind of personality she brought to the profession.

Kaycee was a pioneer as one of the first African American models prior to becoming a librarian. She also was a highly sought after and frequent public speaker on image building and personal management. She wrote and narrated the audiotape: "Kaycee Hale's image builders : personal management and image building skills for information professionals" that was sponsored by SLA and FIDM/The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in 1987.

Those of us who were fortunate to know Kaycee will never forget her and will always miss her.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at 11:30 A.M. at the Inglewood Cemetery Mortuary, 3801 West Manchester Blvd, Inglewood, CA 90305.
