Please join me in giving big CONGRATULATIONS to SLA-SCC Past President Richard Hulser, and President-Elect JonLuc Christensen, for being recognized by SLA with association awards!!

JonLuc received the James M. Matarazzo Rising Star Award, which recognizes outstanding new SLA members who show exceptional promise of leadership and contribution to the association and profession. If there ever was a rising SLA star, it's JonLuc.

Richard Hulser was awarded the John Cotton Dana Award, SLA's top honor. This award is granted to recognize a lifetime of achievement, as well as exceptional service to SLA and the library and information profession. I can't think of a person more deserving of this honor than Richard.

It's such a thrill to see two of our chapter members recognized. I'm so proud of you both – CONGRATULATIONS!!

    SLA Recognizes 11 Members

SLA owes its success to the many members who give their time, energy, ideas and talent to activities and programs at the community and association levels. Recognizing these individuals is one of the most important things we do, so we're excited to announce our 2020 class of honorees who were nominated by their fellow members for SLA awards.

This year, SLA recognizes 11 members with awards:

    • Richard Hulser, MA, MEd, FSLA
    • Sharon Lenius, MA, MPA, MLS

    SLA Hall of Fame

    • Rita Ormsby, MA, MLS
    • Tom Rink, MLIS, FSLA

    Fellows of SLA

    • Anne Barker, MLIS
    • Jeff Bond, MS, MLS
    • John Coll

    James M. Matarazzo Rising Stars

    • Dana Eckstein Berkowitz, MLIS
    • JonLuc Christensen, MLIS
    • Thérèse Mainville-Celso, MIS
