    Topic

    We will discuss records information management and information governance education including benefits and trends within the profession. Dr. Michele A. L. Villagran will share stories and statistics about life within records and archives including a discussion on the Master of Archives and Records Administration (MARA) program at San Jose State University. The session should be an informative presentation to offer an overview of the profession within the last several years and emerging employment trends. 

    Presenter

    Dr. Michele A. L. Villagran is an Assistant Professor with San Jose State University, School of Information. Her research focuses on areas of cultural diversity, social justice in library and information science, and cultural intelligence phenomena within libraries. Dr. Villagran also serves as CEO of CulturalCo, LLC consulting in areas of cultural competency, diversity & inclusion, conflict resolution, and emotional intelligence. She has worked in the past within the legal segment, and oversaw the library, records, and docket departments. Dr. Villagran earned her Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership with her dissertation focusing on cultural intelligence at Pepperdine University, Master of Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine University, and a Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in Library Science focusing on legal informatics from University of North Texas.
