I'm looking for advice on adding tags to content in Word documents using an existing taxonomy.
My organisation has thousands of internally-created documents (mostly MS Word) that contain valuable information. We would like to be able to tag sections of these documents to allow this content to be easily surfaced. Eg a colleague may want to search for all information about the Tiber oil field. Ideally the relevant sections of the documents would have been tagged 'Tiber oilfield'. This tag could be searched to pull back all sections of the documents that are about Tiber. A simple search across the documents is not good enough: 'Tiber' may refer to the river in Italy rather than the oilfield in the Gulf of Mexico.
We have an existing taxonomy that could be used to make the tags consistent.
I am looking for a platform-agnostic solution. The documents may sit in local file drives, or may be in the Cloud. Is there any easy solution to this?Many thanks in advance.
