IMMEDIATE OPENING FOR PART-TIME RESEARCH LIBRARIAN

DESCRIPTION: The Editorial Library seeks a dynamic and experienced news librarian to work as part of a team who deliver customized research to reporters and editors. It is a fast-paced environment, with short deadlines.
Responsibilities include performing research with the highest degree of accuracy to accommodate newsroom story requests. Proven skill and experience employing advanced online searching techniques in commercial databases; proficiency in Lexis-Nexis, Factiva, public records databases, locating court filings, and knowledge of Internet sources. Other work assignments include compiling timelines and organizing data to be utilized in information graphics.
Outstanding communication skills required and ability to work independently and prioritize research needs under tight deadlines. Facility with Windows PC / MS Office required.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES: Library resources maintenance; familiarity with archiving practices is a plus to assist as needed with our Archives database.
QUALIFICATIONS: M.L.S. degree. Two to three years' experience working in a news library or research department is highly desirable.
Salary is an hourly rate based on qualifications, without benefits.
