Come join DCSLA and the staff of the Crystal City Business Improvement District (BID) for a walking tour of Amazon’s new HQ2 in the National Landing area, including sneak previews of proposed plans. The tour will start at 5:30, and it will last approximately one hour and 15 minutes. It will be followed by dinner about 7:00 at Ted’s Montana Grill.
The walk is about 1.75 miles and will end along Crystal Drive. It will capture some of the most visible action happening now, as well as where Amazon will land in a couple years with their larger HQ2 buildings. Here is a link to a map of the area. Peruse Crystal City’s strategic plan and fact sheets for some background.
Details: You can sign up for the walking tour, dinner or both. The tour will start in the courtyard of 2121 Crystal Drive, in the grass with the Adirondack chairs. This is about .4 miles from the Crystal City metro station. You can take the Crystal City metro from the south (Blue and Yellow), but remember the metro lines are closed from the airport north during this time. There are many buses at the Crystal City hub, and underground parking isfree after 4:00. Ted’s Montana Grill is at 2200 Crystal Dr.
Wear comfortable shoes (librarians stereotypically seem to know about this), and bring water.
