Please arrive early and allow time to get through security.

This event comes in three parts. Capacity for the tour is set at twenty guests so please register early.

If you are unable to make the tour and would like to join us for dinner to network with other librarians and library students, please know you are welcome to join us.

Part 1: 1:30PM Tour of the Adams building led by Lynn Weinstein

Step back into the 1930s for a tour of the Science and Business Reading Room in the John Adams Building. We will view the Ezra Winter murals of Thomas Jefferson, and you can get a glimpse of the many owls scattered throughout the reading rooms as we discuss the types of information available in business, science, and technology at the Library of Congress.

After finishing the tour in the Adams building, Ray will guide us to the Jefferson building for Part 2 of the tour.

Part 2: 2:15PM Tour of the Jefferson building led by Raymond Maxwell

The Jefferson Building tour will include various rooms and areas housing murals, sculpture and architecture from the period known as the American Renaissance (1876-1917), an overlook and discussion of the Main Reading Room, and the original Jefferson collection, where we will highlight the history of the Library and its growth and many moves since the Nation's independence.

Part 3: Librarian Networking Dine Around

After the tour we will go to Tortilla Coast for a dine around.
