I want to let everyone know about a very special upcoming event commemorating the 100 year celebration of the Palos Verdes Peninsula. The Doors Open Peninsula (DOP, pronounced "dope") celebration is happening all day on Saturday, June 17. Come take part in the many activities happening all around the hill. Don't forget to come say hi at the main library, (Peninsula Center Library, 701 Silver Spur Rd, Rolling Hills Estates, 90274) to get your Peninsula passport stamped! I really hope to see you there!

As the kickoff event for DOP, on Saturday June 10, Palos Verdes Library District will be hosting our 7th annual community scanning event, Your Story is the Peninsula's Story (YSPS). How will the next 100 years of the Palos Verdes Peninsula be remembered? Come be a part of history and contribute your stories and photos that will become part of the Palos Verdes local community archive.
