You are cordially invited to celebrate the Los Angeles Public Library's Sesquicentennial as we kick off 150 days of special programs and activities! Join the Library for the 150th Anniversary Kickoff Celebration on Wednesday, December 7th from 1:30 p.m. - 5 p.m.
This will be a hybrid event with an In Person component at the Central Library as well as Online. There will be additional events throughout the system. For more details please visit our Calendar of events.

Kickoff Program in the Taper Auditorium: 1:30 p.m.
- Hear from guest speakers, travel through history, learn about special activities you can participate in, and raise your favorite book for a book toast. This portion of the program will also be streaming live on the library's YouTube channel.
Courtyard Reception: 2:30 p.m.
- The festivities continue with music and refreshments to thank library patrons for their continued support.
Snapchat AR Experience at the Knowledge Pool: 3 p.m.
- Join Snapchat representatives to explore augmented reality (AR) using the Knowledge Pool Lens.
- Take a tour, enjoy demonstrations, hands-on activities and take a commemorative photo using the green screen.
