A Reckoning With Confederate Monuments
Last summer there were BLM protests from coast to coast in the wake of the murder of George Floyd. Other protests involved the removal of Confederate and other statues and monuments representing white supremacy. The defenders of the monuments say they preserve history, and their removal erases it. Protesters say the monuments are reminders of oppressive and systemic racial injustice.
