SLA Engineering Librarian of the Year Award sponsored by IHS

The Engineering Librarian of the Year, sponsored by IHS, highlights the accomplishments and contributions of SLA Engineering Community members to the engineering librarian profession. The winner must be present to accept the $1500 award at the Engineering Community awards event at the 2020 SLA Annual Conference on October 15-18 in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA.  

Award winners will receive ONE complementary ticket to the event. Prospective candidates are encouraged to nominate themselves, or they may be nominated by a colleague or associate. Deadline for Submission: March 15, 2020.

Qualifications:
  1. Be a member of the SLA Engineering Community in good standing at the time of applying for the award.
  2. Submit a statement, up to 1000 words, outlining distinguished achievements in the engineering library profession, through exceptional contribution or accomplishment on the job, within the SLA Engineering Community, or within the industry at large having taken place within last calendar year. In selected cases, based solely on the Awards Committee’s judgment, recognition may be given for ongoing, long-term contribution(s).

Notification: Applicants will receive notification on award status within a month of the submission deadline. The award check will be presented at the SLA conference. The award recipient’s name will be posted to the Engineering Community's website. An announcement and introduction of the award recipient will be posted to the Engineering Community website and to SLA Connect.
