  • 1.  Call for Posters - SLA 2021 Annual Conference

    Posted 05-12-2021 09:13
The SLA 2021 Call for Posters is now open! Specialized librarians and information professionals are invited to submit an abstract for a poster session, to be held during the SLA 2021 Annual Conference, to be held virtually this August. Submissions are welcome on any topic relevant to special librarianship and the practice of managing, organizing, storing, and sharing information.

To be considered, submit an abstract here by June 1, 2021.

Accepted poster authors will be eligible for a discounted registration rate of $149 for the conference.

    Submission Guidelines and Review Criteria

Abstracts should include the objective or research question and methods used. Results and conclusions are not required in the submission, but should be included in the final poster. The description must be substantial enough to let the review committee see what your project is about and the expected value of the research.

Submissions will be evaluated on the following criteria:

    • Clarity – The objectives of the research presented are clearly described.
    • Significance – The objectives of the research make a significant contribution to the library and information profession.
    • Methods – The methods used (including the design, implementation, and analysis) are appropriate to achieving the objectives of the research.
    • Presentation – The abstract is logical, interesting, clearly written, and free of grammatical or typographical errors.
The review and selection process will be managed by SLA member review committees organized by topic area. Applicants will be notified of their application status in mid-June.
