Posting on behalf of May Chang, Library CTO for the University of Cincinnati
~~~~~~~~Hello all -
IFLA is holding a series of Global Vision (https://globalvision.ifla.org) discussions on the challenges facing the library field from ever-increasing globalization. There is a firm belief that only a united and connected library field will be able to fulfill one of the true potentials of libraries: to build literate, informed and participative societies.
Discussions have been organized at regional, national, and local levels to gather responses for IFLA to collate, analyze, and publish the IFLA Global Vision report in early 2018. Based on the report, the library field will develop concrete work plans on how to put our collective vision of the future into practice.
I would like to organize a local discussion on this and am looking for about 20 participants. The plan is to gather librarians from diverse libraries and interests to discuss/answer a series of prescribed questions related to a vision for libraries, challenges and solutions, and how a united field can make a difference.
Venue: University of Cincinnati, Langsam Library
Date/Time: Friday, June 23, 9am-Noon
If you are interested in participating, please email email@example.com by June 12. Let me know if you have questions.
Looking forward to hearing back (and the opportunity to meet other professionals in the area!).
