The 2019 Joint Spring Conference – Leading at Every Level: Your Role in Moving Libraries Forward – will take place at Jenny Wiley State Resort Park in Prestonsburg, KY, March 27-29, 2019. The conference begins with a welcome reception and poster session on Wednesday, March 27th and ends at noon on Friday, March 29. The conference is co-sponsored by the SLA Kentucky Chapter, the Kentucky Library Association Academic Library Section, and the Kentucky Library Association Special Libraries Section.
This year's Opening and Closing General Sessions offer a unique perspective on leadership, from both emerging and veteran library leaders who have worked in the same institution. John Blyberg, a 2006 Library Journal Mover & Shaker, opens the conference with insights on library leadership from the perspective of many years' experience in information technology. The Closing General Session on Friday is presented by Brittany Netherton, currently a knowledge and learning services librarian, who will offer observations from an emerging leader's perspective. Both John and Brittany bring their common experience at the Darien Public Library (Darien, CT) to bear as the context for a discussion of effective library leadership.
