A law library runs best when all the components are in sync and running well. Now that we have explored some of the legal research components, we will discuss the variety of other jobs, tasks, and skills applied to a variety of titles held in the law librarianship landscape.About the presenterLaura MacAvoy graduated with a MLIS from the LIU Palmer School of Library and Information Science as well as a Certificate of Advanced Study in Archives and Records Management in 2019. She also holds a MM in Voice Performance and worked in arts administration for several years while pursuing a career in opera before deciding to attend library school. She began her library career at The New School as a Metadata and Cataloging Librarian specializing in music cataloging before making the jump to Law Librarianship in 2021.She is currently an Electronic Business Services Analyst at Shearman & Sterling where her primary duties include cataloging, electronic services access, tracking usage statistics, acquisitions, coordinating training, and creating/maintaining documentation along with light research as needed and some archival work. Laura is a member of LLAGNY and AALL.
