Do you have a passion for research, writing, and statistics? Can you communicate complex information and tailor educational materials to a variety of audiences? Do you have experience training adult learners? If so, this may be the career for you.

We are hiring a Research Assistant (Analyst 2) to join us in the State of Oregon Law Library (SOLL), Appellate Court Services Division (ACSD), located within the Office of the State Court Administrator (OSCA) at the Oregon Judicial Department (OJD).

    Who we are:

The Oregon Judicial Department is Oregon's unified, statewide court system, which includes 27 judicial districts in 36 counties, as well as the tax court, appellate courts, and the administrative offices. We have approximately 1500 employees and 200 elected officials. We are committed to our mission and our values.

The mission of the State of Oregon Law Library (SOLL) is to provide the comprehensive legal resources that the executive, legislative and judicial branches of state government require to serve the public effectively and to afford all Oregonians access to legal information.

    What you will do:

You'll be part of a small but specialized team focused on providing direct and indirect legal resources and reference services to the judicial, executive, and legislative branches of government as well as the public in Oregon.

Working with the State Law Librarian, you will perform research, collect data for statistical analysis, and present for special projects directly related to the library's core mission. You will create written, graphic, and video content for SOLL's website and social media accounts, focusing on promoting and educating our patrons on library resources and materials.

You will provide support and backup to the librarians and other staff within the library. This will include more traditional library work such as providing reference and research assistance to law library patrons virtually and in person and office management tasks such as processing invoices and new materials.

    Who we want and need:

We need your technical expertise in researching and developing content for adult learners, your ability to learn new systems and programs, and your passion to serve underrepresented communities.

If you enjoy teaching people, conducting research, creating content, and working on a small team, we encourage you to apply. We welcome all candidates who are inspired by our work and mission
