"A library card and internet access will get you far in the simpler business of acquiring information. But it takes a community of learners-and that's what a university is-to engage ideas."
We need more engagement with ideas and less insistence on conformity and litmus tests to see who is "in" or "out."
The librarian can be and must be the trusted guide as people engage with ideas.
