Description: This panel session, hosted and moderated by Ray Pun, examines the importance of vendor-library partnerships in promoting innovation for library services and resource management. Three speakers from different backgrounds will share why it is important to build such collaborations and how to cultivate such partnerships for success. Whether your role is as an information professional or a vendor, you will find valuable insights.

Maggie Farrell is Dean of Libraries at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, a system serving over 30,000 students. Previously, Maggie was the Dean of Libraries at Clemson University and the University of Wyoming, and Associate Dean of Libraries at Montana State University. Other roles include consultant for the US Government Printing Office, Head of Government Publications at UNLV, USIA/ALA Fellow at Dalhousie University, Canada, and Documents Librarian at Arizona State University. She authors the "Leadership Reflections" column in the Journal of Library Administration as well as other presentations and writings.
Rick Branham is Vice President of Global Accounts and Alliances at SirsiDynix. Rick has three decades of experience with SirsiDynix including support, product management, business development, marketing, and sales. Formerly head of the Asia Pacific region, he now drives SirsiDynix’s vision and strategy for Academic libraries. He also leads the Pre-Sales Solutions group, which leverages the robust extensibility of the BLUEcloud Library Services Platform to develop innovative solutions for libraries.
Barbara Kawecki is Director of Customer Retention, Western US, at YBP/GOBI. She is responsible for the management and growth of the GOBI Library Solutions business throughout the western U.S. Barbara has more than 23 years of experience selling information products and services into the academic library market.
Raymond Pun, Moderator
Ray Pun, Alder Graduate School of Education Education, is an academic librarian in California, and currently co-chairs the LMD’s professional development committee with Rebecca Jones. His previous involvement with SLA committees including the Nomination Committee, International Relations Task Force, Business & Finance Division’s Executive Board, and Student and New Professionals Advisory Council.
