Focusing the Fire Hose - meeting the information needs of Life Sciences companies

    SLA New England meeting
    Tuesday, April 4th - 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

How do Information Professionals working in the Life Sciences industry face the formidable challenge of meeting their organizations' vast and varied external information needs?  In this ever-evolving and fast-paced industry, the choice of scientific, business, and current awareness resources is extensive. Getting the most relevant and authoritative information to our diverse user base in a sustainable and cost-effective manner can feel like an overwhelming task.

Join SLA New England for an informal Fireside Chat with Betty Edwards (Senior Manager, Business & Scientific Literature at Sage Therapeutics), John Aubrey (Director, Library & Information Sciences at Vertex Pharmaceuticals), and featured speaker Allison DeAngelis (Biotech Startups and Venture Capital Reporter with STAT News) as they discuss strategies for meeting these challenges and take a deeper look at the state of New England's biotech industry.

This panel will be of interest to information professionals working in the biotech/pharma industry, as well as others with an interest in learning about trends in this dynamic and evolving sector. There will be ample time given to Questions & Answers at the end of the program.

There will be a catered networking reception from 5:30-6:00. The panel discussion will take place from 6:00-7:00, followed by an additional 30 minutes of networking. Beverages sponsored by STAT+ News.

Location: Sage Therapeutics, 215 First Street, Cambridge – 3rd Floor meeting room (elevator available).  Upon arrival you will need to check in with building security.  They will have an attendee list and will guide you to the program space.
Parking: Parking is available in the 245 First Street garage and Sage will validate 100%.
Public Transportation: 9 minute walk from the Kendall/MIT Red Line Stop.

REGISTRATION REQUIRED - Register at this link.

COVID Protocol and Testing Policy:  Sage Therapeutics requires that all guests be fully vaccinated and test negative for COVID the same day as the event. People who are not feeling well should not come onsite, even if testing negative.  If you aren't able to test prior to coming in, you can grab a test in the office & isolate in a private room until you have your results. An honor system is used and test results are not collected. Sage does not require masks, however they will be available if you prefer to wear one.
