    Greetings SLA Michigan,

I want to thank everyone who attended last night's happy hour with MichALL! During our excellent and far ranging discussion, the topic of remote working came up and Jane Potee mentioned two insightful articles recently published on Scholarly Kitchen. Jane also helpfully tracked down links to the articles and outlined their content as well. I thought I'd share them with the community as many of us remain working remotely. Have a great weekend!

    Scholarly Kitchen

    1. "Back to School - Be Kind to Your Coworkers Who Are Parents," by David Crotty, Sep 4, 2020 (21 Comments)

https://scholarlykitchen.sspnet.org/2020/09/04/back-to-school-be-kind-to-your-coworkers-who-are-parents/  (Read 20+ comments – long thread, good points reminders how we truly are ALL IN THIS (COVID TIMES) TOGETHER).

2.)  "Coping with Working Part-time and Being a Better Colleague to Those Who Do," By Charlie Rapple, Sep 8, 2020 (Comments included)

    1. Be considerate (walk the walk as well as talking the talk)
    2. Respect boundaries (don't do their job for them)
    3. Don't waste their time (don't waste anyone's time!)
    4. Be realistic…
    5. Don't refuse to be accountable…
    6. Timebox your working hours
    7. Get the balance right with meetings
    8. Don't trust your memory
    9. Don't let the change of workspace limit the ways you work
    10. Having a personal life is no longer a guilty secret
