Hello Michigan SLA Chapter!
Hope you are doing well and keeping COVID safe in your area of Michigan. I have enjoyed keeping up with news, virtual meet ups and SLA MI discussions during the past few months of 2020 quarantine.
Who knew 2020 would be so eventful? PCG an Ingenta PLC company, represents publishers (some small some larger), serving as an intermediary, and has tasked me with a Survey where I am gathering information across several library markets. This is NOT a SALES pitch, but a way to share with Publishers (and at Charleston Conference Panel) the current situation and events facing libraries during the pandemic. Thank you to those who have already responded to my request. We would love to have responses back my OCT. 10, 2020.
So my favor to ask of my fellow Michigan Special Libraries and Members is below.
Ingenta/PCG Publisher's Communication Group is compiling input from institutions/libraries (50-60 across the country/world) for the upcoming Charleston Conference virtual conference.
Many of my colleagues have been reaching out to individual Academic Libraries, but I am taking a "unique" way and I am reaching out to Michigan Special Library Group to gather some Special Library feedback.
It would be great if we can chat about your input or feedback and I can be reached at jane.potee@ingenta.com to set up a 10-15 minute virtual coffee/phone call. Otherwise, would you have a few minutes to take a short survey?
I have the questions written out below, or at the hyperlink below you can type your answers directly into the survey (only 6 brief questions).
We are compiling information for both a Virtual Library/Publisher Panel at Charleston, and then possibly a white paper where Heather Lantz (Ingenta/PCG), Librarians and Publishers will participate.
There is the option too in remaining anonymous if you would rather, some Government Libraries have chosen this option. I know it may be a busy time, but if you would consider adding your input I would be SO appreciative. Also, I will be happy to supply you with the findings when they are compiled and tallied.
