Greta Braungard



Greta Braungard, MLS has been an Army Librarian since 2006, starting at Fort Knox Barr Memorial Library, then coming to the U.S. Army War College in 2008, starting as a Research Librarian, then becoming the Chief of the Library in 2016. She has a degree in Creative Writing and Literature and Anthropology from LeMoyne College and Masters in Library Science from Syracuse University. Ms. Braungard participates in the Army Library Steering Committee (ALSC) including coordinating and holding the first in-person meeting in almost a decade. She is the current lead of the Military Education Coordinating Council (MECC) Library Working Group and is working to coordinate accreditation visits with the Joint Staff to provide our new library leaders with the tools to become qualified observers of the Process for Accreditation of Joint Education (PAJE) visits.

Deb Knox has been serving the federal marketplace for nearly 22 years as a Sales Director and Contract Manager. She is a champion for military librarians in particular and a strong supporter of the Division, serving on the Board over the years and quick to volunteer. She says “I am always willing to lend a helping hand and consider our library community to be a like-minded group of friends above all else.”

A long relationship with SLA, the MLD going back to 1994 and 2001.
Much time as a solo and recognized as the enterprise Info SME allowed much latitude for empowered entrepreneurship.
