Ready to join an elite team of librarians? The U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO), Center for Library Services (CLS) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Senior Research Librarian. Candidates with research experience in government, academic, or special libraries are encouraged to apply.
This position will serve as a senior librarian and agency expert by conducting complex literature searches, providing other reference and research services, and maintaining an extensive knowledge of databases and resources. Senior Research Librarians perform research requiring expertise in one or more key issue areas required by GAO's mission teams, including but not limited to, law, legislative activity and procedures, accounting and finance, economics, health care, national defense, and natural resources. CLS research librarians develop strategies and methodologies for literature, bibliometric, and legislative searches, design subject-specific information guides and set up research and information alerts, teach classes on research and the use of literature and information, create guidance about the evaluation and use of information, and curate information and data collections.
