Greetings to all our SLA/DMIL members!
I hope everyone is doing well. We all get a bit insulated. Even though it has been a mild winter in the Washington, DC area, I know we have members across the country and around the world. Some have had some severe bouts of bad weather - most recently our neighbors in Tennessee were hit with tornadoes.
Now we're scrambling to prepare and react to COVID-19. Below is an update from SLA as well as informational links.
SLA and DMIL are moving ahead with plans for SLA 2020 in Charlotte, NC in June. ALA has released a statement that they are still planning for their annual conference in June as well. Here's a link to the statement from SLA if you haven't seen it already:
I know we're looking for good in formation - DMIL member Sharon Lenius shared this:
Please take the time to view at least some of this excellently organized News Conference* by officials of Fairfax City, Fairfax County, State of Virginia etc.
This press conference is from Sunday, Mar 8, 2020 with info that was available at that time.
And Past Chair Travis Ferrell shared these links of good information.
