Colleagues,   Just in...a very interesting job for those who want to exercise their leadership, supervisory and creative skills.  The idea of collaboration with other relatively nearby professionals certainly has appeal.  Do apply!

I must say, I don't believe I'm ever seen an announcement listing the per hour salary, however haven't looked lately..  And - I must confess I did occasionally divide my salary to find out what the hourly rate was...not something I would particularly recommend!

Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is recruiting a Supervisory Library
Program Manager for a multi-library system at Marine Corps Base Camp
Pendleton, CA, near San Diego. This position oversees a Main Library, 3
Branch libraries (2 on board Camp Pendleton and 1 at Marine Corps Logistics
Base Barstow, CA), a Brig Library and the only Bookmobile in the DoD.
    Announcement closes 29 December 2020.  $39.00 per hour ($81,393)

The system includes 3 other professional Librarians and approx. 22 Library

There are two other MCCS Libraries in the San Diego area; Marine Corps
Recruit Depot San Diego and Marine Corps Air Station Miramar for
    collaboration opportunities.

Camp Pendleton offers Marines and families traditional library materials,
services and programs for children, teens and adults as well as a wide range
of Makerspace programming.  Camp Pendleton libraries are in the process of
transitioning from the Dewey Decimal classification for non-fiction to the
word-based Semper FindIt! classification system.  Branch libraries are
finished or almost complete and the new Pacific Views Branch library houses
the CreateSpace Makerspace.   The Patrick J. Carney Main library is
undergoing an extensive weeding project before beginning a building
    renovation to Semper FindIt!

In 2021, the MCCS Libraries will be joining the Army, Air Force and Navy MWR
Libraries in a joint Library Services Platform and will be moving to the
Bibliovation Integrated Library System.  This will be a 170 library
consortium serving Department of Defense personnel worldwide.
