  • 1.  Find Some Joy

    Colleagues,  A couple things...

    1.  What I did that was fun and brought me joy.  Last week one of our local PBS stations was having fundraising and they had "Hot August Night III" with Neil Diamond (circa Aug 11, 2012 The Greek Theater, Los Angles)  Well, listened along through all the announcements, and then...I heard the opening notes of "Cracklin Rosie"- my husband and I looked at each other, got up from our comfortable chairs  and danced and sang through the whole song.  It was so cathartic and just plain fun!  Then along came "Sweet Caroline" so we had to sing and pump the air as they do at  Boston Red Sox Games, 7th Inning stretch. What fun!
Bottom line, I renewed my PBS membership, got some exercise and had fun!

    2.  Coming up that will bring joy:  2020 National Book Festival, Virtually, Sept 25-27.  (Free)

There are several interesting virtual initiatives: News from the Festival
       a.  Explore the History of the Festival - Great moments & photos
       b.  Celebrating American Ingenuity - Over 100 authors, poets, illustrators - the full line up
       c.  PBS to Broadcast NBF - Sunday, Sept 27, 6-8 pm ET  with Hoda Kotb. Check your local listings
    Internationals welcome!

I'll post more info on additional book festivals later.  They give me joy, and I hope you will enjoy them, too.
