Works at California State University Northridge. Her B.A. is from CSU Northridge and her M.S.L. is from Western Michigan University. Doris started her career at USC’s Law Center Library as the Head of Cataloging. She worked previously at the RAND Corporation Library, AT&T Global Information Solutions (aka Teradata) and joined California State University Northridge in 1996 as the Physical Librarian and since 1999 has served 5+ terms as Department Chair of the Collection Access and Management Services Department and Subject Bibliographer in Science, Engineering and Social Sciences at the Oviatt Library.
She has Chaired the IT, Telecommunications and CI Divisions of SLA as well as serving as President, in addition to numerous other volunteer positions for the Southern California Chapter of SLA. She's the recipient of the SLA Fellow honor, the Rose Vermelker Award and the SLA Hall of Fame Award. She is feeling very honored to be the recipient of SLA's highest Award the John Cotton Dana Award for 2017.
