About Us

SLA New England (previously known as SLA Boston) Chapter was established in 1910 and happens to be the first local chapter of Special Libraries Association (SLA).  The chapter covers Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Connecticut (except for Fairfield County).  We are also affiliated with two library and information science programs: Simmons College and Southern Connecticut State University .

Our members are librarians and information professionals who work in a variety of positions and with wide range of organizations.  Our members satisfy the information needs in the following areas:

Our chapter’s vision is to assist members with their professional development and presence within SLA community and beyond.
