New Jersey Chapter presents: A Library Tour

    Firestone Library at Princeton University
One Washington Rd., Princeton, NJ 08544

    Wednesday, April 3, 2019

The Harvey S. Firestone Memorial Library functions as the main library on the Princeton campus and assumes primary responsibility for the humanities and social sciences. Firestone Library opened in 1948 as the first large American University library constructed after World War II. The library building was expanded in 1971 and again in 1988 and currently has more than 70 miles of bookshelves, making Firestone one of the largest open-stack libraries in existence.

A 10-year multiple-phase renovation project, during which time the library remained open and its collection available, was recently completed. This exclusive guided tour will highlight the stunning new spaces created in this famous building. Our tour guides have been intimately involved in all phases of the renovation.

For more information, check out Firestone Library's website at https://library.princeton.edu/firestone  and their renovation website at https://libblogs.princeton.edu/renovations.

Dinner will be held in a private room at the Triumph Brewing Company, 138 Nassau Street, across the street from Firestone Library, after the tour.
