    The NJ SLA Community invites you to the following virtual panel session: 

    The Information Professional's Job Market: Challenges, Trends and Opportunities 

    May 25th, 3pm – 4pm (ET) 

    Hear the perspectives and experiences of two information professionals and one career management expert as they discuss the current challenges, trends and opportunities facing those navigating the current job market. Topics to be discussed include the increasing focus on digital technologies and non-traditional roles for information professionals; the effects of the "Great Resignation'; and the insights into how job placement and career management fit into this changing work environment. 

    Speaker presentations will be followed by a Q & A session.

    Panelists: 

    Brian Keith, Associate Dean for Administrative Services and Faculty Affairs 

    George A. Smathers Libraries at the University of Florida 

    Dean Keith is the most senior Human Resources, Financial, Facilities, and Grants Management professional for the Smathers Libraries with comprehensive responsibilities in each of these functions.  Brian's additional responsibilities include leadership of library-wide DEIJ (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice), faculty development and mentoring, professional development travel, graduate student internship, and undergraduate fellowship programs. The Smathers Libraries team is comprised of 405 employees, including tenure accruing library faculty.  Brian sets policies and is active in national dialogues on employment practices, including fair, equitable, inclusive practices for recruiting, screening and selecting information professionals. 

     

    Kathy Bradshaw, Assistant Dean for Organizational Development 

    James Branch Cabell Library, Virginia Commonwealth University 

    Dean Bradshaw joined the VCU Libraries faculty in fall 2015. In her role, she has responsibility for strategic leadership and planning related to all aspects of the VCU Libraries organizational design and staffing. She oversees staff development and training programs; analyzes organizational data and advises senior leadership on strategies for strengthening the organization and culture of the VCU Libraries; supervises human resources activities, including policy development and compliance; and directs initiatives related to inclusive excellence and diversity throughout the VCU Libraries, working closely with the VCU Libraries' Diversity Committee. She is a member of the senior leadership team. She holds credentials in both library science and human resources management. 

     

    Ildiko (Ildi) Koczan, Assistant Director of Student Services for Career Services 

    School of Communication & Information, Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey 

    Ildi holds two master's degrees, one in HR Management and the other in Counseling and is currently pursuing her doctoral degree at Rutgers University. She is also a nationally certified counselor (NCC) with a professional interest in career counseling and personal development. Prior to working as a career counselor, Ildi specialized in Organizational Capability and T&D in global corporate HR. In her current role as the Assistant Director for Career Services at SC&I, Ildi heads up career education, exploration, and experiential education initiatives supporting undergrad and graduate SC&I students.
