Looking to do something fun this summer, learn about Philadelphia History, eat some good food and meet your fellow SLA Philly members?
The Philadelphia Community is planning a tour of Chinatown in August thru Free Tours by Foot.
The tour will be on Sunday August 20th from 1:30 PM-4:30 PM. Please show up a few minutes early.
The tour starts from Outside the AIA (American Institute of Architects) Bookstore at 1218 Arch St. between 12th and 13th Streets across from the Pennsylvania Convention Center. The booking fee and price for food is completely separate.
At each food stop, you choose what treats you would like to taste. Try them all or none at all (don't forget, this is also a history and culture tour). Suggested amount to bring is between $10-$12 cash, depending on your appetite. You may also want to bring a reusable grocery bag since you will want to bring it home to share! The highlight for many is the final family style shared dumpling meal, so pace yourselves to have room!! You will not leave hungry for flavor or history! If you want more information or more descriptions on the tours go to freetoursbyfoot.com/philadelphia-tours
For 5 people or less the booking fee for each tour is $3.00 per person and then you can pay what you want to the tour guide via donation the day of the tour.
For 6-15 people the prices will be different for each tour as we need to prepay to book.
Please RSVP to Leigh Bush at bushl@freelibrary.org if interested in attending and for information on how to make your reservation and pay.
Deadline to RSVP for the Chinatown tour is August 7th.
