The SLA-NY Rising Star Award is the chapter version of SLA's annual award presented to recognize outstanding new members (five years or less) who contribute greatly to the chapter and show exceptional intuition and leadership.
Congratulations to this Year's Winner: Emma Antobam-Ntekudzi
Emma is the Reference & Instruction Librarian at the Bronx Community College, NYC. She received positive recommendations from colleagues and fellow SLA members. In particular we are recognizing her for her contribution as a panelist at the Chapter’s diversity event in October 2019.
As an instructor at BCC, she has inspired colleagues with her hard work helping students with literacy classes and research. She has impressed colleagues and fellow SLA members with her genuine interest in sharing her expertise, her strong work ethic and her positive promotion of the information profession.
To nominate a member of the SLA-NY Chapter for the 2021 SLA-NY Rising Star Award, please submit a brief bio of the nominee, contact information (email and/or phone number), a paragraph outlining why they should be considered, and any relevant supplementary material such as a website or LinkedIn profile. The Committee is accepting nominations and awards will be presented at an upcoming Chapter event in the spring. Nominations should be submitted through the online submission form.
