    Hi SLA-NY Community,

Sharing information about the Prison Library Support Network's Book Club in collaboration with Bluestockings Bookstore. The Prison Library Support Network (PLSN) is an information-based collective founded in 2016 to support incarcerated people and was a recipient of SLA-NY's 2020 Organization Spotlight Award. Their first (virtual) meeting is on Sunday, May 9, 5-6:30PM and they will be discussing the book We Do This 'Til We Free Us: Abolitionist Organizing and Transformative Justice by Mariame Kaba. More info and sign up here:

I attended several sessions of PLSN's book club when it was in-person at METRO and found it a great opportunity to learn more about and discuss the history of prisons and incarceration in the United States, prison abolition, and information accessibility. I won't be able to attend this upcoming book club, but hope to see you all at one in the future!

That is terrific news.  Also Bluestockings has a new venue space as I recall, so when we get to go back to bookstores, that will be nice to see.
Thanks for sharing this Alice. glad to know one of eth entities NY highlighted is still doing great work.
    All the best, Clara
