We had such a wonderful time with Leigh's virtual tour a few days ago, that we were so happy to know about this upcoming event.  see the details below!

NYLC VIRTUAL EVENT - A Feminist Walk Thru Harlem
join the New York Library Club and our host Leigh Hallingby for a virtual walk through both African American Harlem and Spanish Harlem. We will stop at the places where accomplished women, ranging from iconic to not so familiar, are honored. Stops include named buildings, murals and mosaics, statues, plaques on the sidewalk, and commemorative street corners. And the women range from A'Lelia Walker to Nicholasa Mohr to Zora Neale Hurston. Since we will stop at famous places such as the Apollo Theater and the Schomburg Library, the tour also offers a great look at Harlem, recently referred to by the NY Times as "New York's most storied neighborhood." The virtual tour is about 50 minutes of slides with live commentary. Time for comments from the audience and Q&A will follow.
