(In-Person) Walking Tour Brooklyn's historic Gowanus Canal area & Follow up Musical entertainment

Learn about the Superfund clean-up and the rezoning of Brooklyn's historic Gowanus Canal area in a free walk led by SLA-NY member Rita Ormsby, Saturday, July 30. Meet at the southern bound Union Street subway stop at 2:30 p.m. Walk will end at the Gowanus Dredgers boathouse where at 5 p.m. the band Wifetime, with Olivia Ellen Lloyd, Andrea Asprelli and Sam Dallas will be performing. For those interested in doing more in Park Slope, the movie "Fame" will be shown in nearby Prospect Park, with gates opening at 6:30 p.m. Leader will contact those who sign up with any changes to the walk. Walk will be about 4,000 steps. Heavy rain will cancel.
Length of event 2.5 hour walk; Music entertainment suggested & optional - Band or Movie sing along follows.
