As part of the nationwide Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month during September, Rita Ormsby is again organizing a SLA-NY group to walk in honor of the late Dana Gordon. She is fondly remembered as being very active in the local chapter and the News Division before dying from cancer 10 years ago. Please contact Rita by September 5 if you are interested in joining the walk on Saturday, Sept. 10. The walk’s start time and Manhattan location will be determined by those interested in walking. In addition to our annual walk, SLA-NY honors Dana's legacy of creativity and leadership with the
Dana Gordon Award.
SLA’s walk will be among the Tell Every Amazing Lady (T.E.A.L) About Ovarian Cancer walks on Sept 10. This year, the T.E.A.L. nonprofit will provide an in-person, on Sept. 10, and an online Women’s Health Expo in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park.
