SLA-NY Community - Look the Part

When:  Oct 4, 2023 from 12:30 to 13:30 (ET)

Join us for an informal lunchtime roundtable conversation on Wednesday Oct. 4 (12:30-1:30), Look The Part : Authenticity, individuality, and the right to self-expression in personal style that works for the office/stacks/archive.

A handful of invited LIS folks in different library/archive environments, within differing industries, and in different titles/technical tasks will be leading the open discussion.  All are welcome to chat or listen at your comfort level in this zoom roundtable.

Up for discussion:
Larger societal constraints of beauty myth, body image, gender expression/expectations, class/culture clash and more.

Real life experiences that caused personal change in a challenging or positive way for your career or for personal growth.

In public facing spaces, office environments, work from home/remote different expectations before/during/after Covid lockdown.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Facilitating chat: Lisa & Clara
