The Physics-Astronomy-Mathematics Division (PAM) of the Special Libraries Association was granted "provisional" status for a two-year period in October 1972. At the Annual Conference in Chicago in June 1975, the SLA Board of Directors voted to accept PAM's petition requesting full division status.
PAM is focused on all aspects of librarianship in the fields of physics, astronomy, and mathematics, with particular emphasis on the control, dissemination, and retrieval of knowledge and information in those areas. We have an active membership, and we meet regularly at the SLA Annual Conference, where we have a full slate of events geared just for physical science librarians. We’d love to have you join the PAM-ily!
