    We have three positions open at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Atlanta GA. The announcement closes on Thursday, March 31, 2022.
    The Office of Library Science is now recruiting for three librarian, 1410-GS-12, positions: a reference librarian, a systems librarian and a serials librarian.

    The reference librarian is part of the Reference, Research and Training (RRT) Team which is responsible for conducting literature searches, systematic reviews, and research consultations; assessment of scholarly impact; development and implementation of library trainings; support of the library reference desk; and related duties. The reference librarian will contribute to all functions of the RRT Team.

    The systems librarian is part of the Access, Data and Emerging Patron Technology Team (ADEPT) which is responsible for the development and maintenance of library electronic systems; oversight of library technology; development and maintenance of the Library's Intranet, Internet, and SharePoint sites; development and implementation of data modernization and visualization initiatives; and related duties. The systems librarian will contribute to all functions of the ADEPT Team.

    The serials librarian is part of the Document Delivery, Interlibrary Loan, Services and Collections Team which is responsible for document delivery and interlibrary loan services; library collection acquisitions, cataloging, maintenance and oversight; special collaboration projects; and related duties. The serials librarian will be responsible for managing the library's print serials, electronic resources and all subscriptions, including but not limited to databases, journals and books. The serials librarian will serve as a Contracting Officer Representative responsible for OLS subscriptions and databases contracts. The serials librarian also will serve as part of the Collections and Acquisitions Workgroup to evaluate requests for purchases and recommend additions to the collection.

    In addition to the team-specific responsibilities noted above, librarian responsibilities also include keeping abreast of rapidly changing advances in the profession and in Agency initiatives; maintaining records of library service provision and patron interactions; and participating in OLS and OS activities to support scientific quality and integrity in the Agency.
