    Senior Library Services Specialist – Medical Writing and Health Communications (Flexible Location)
    Position Overview:

    This position supports the mission of Library Services which is to obtain, maintain, and search for information that will assist Evidera staff in the delivery of quality products to their clients. Primary responsibilities include assessment, cost/fee negotiation, and establishment of journal subscription packages and other Library Services-related resources, review of Library Services-related invoices, communication of Library Services news and updates throughout the organization, development of advanced literature searches, and other administrative tasks as assigned.  

     
    Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions**):
    • Manage literature search queue to maintain timely responses to requests, communication with requestors, and track management of requests in consideration of priority of need and other work load requirements.
    • Conduct advanced literature searches in multiple databases (PubMed, Ovid, Embase, Cochrane, PsycINFO, EconLit, BIOSIS, CINAHL, etc.) as a part of a project team.
    • Track journal subscriptions and other resources to report usage and evaluate for renewal.
    • Negotiate and obtain pricing for annual license renewals.
    • Conduct database search training and coordinate vendor-sponsored trainings.
    • Request copyright permissions and answer copyright questions.
    • Manage Reprints Desk document delivery account.
    • Establish and refine processes to support Library Services operations efficiently and effectively in consideration of cost, quality, and time considerations.
    • Assist with article retrieval when needed.
    • Guide manager in goal-setting and strategic planning for Library Services function.
    • Support project teams as requested.
    • Train, coach, and mentor junior Library Services staff.
    • Work with other departments to review policies related to copyright or other Library Services functions and periodically updates relevant training and/or processes.
    • Perform other tasks, as assigned.
     
    Education, Professional Skills & Experience 
    • Master's degree in library or information sciences with at least 4 years' experience (or undergraduate degree with at least 8 years' experience) in Library Services role conducting well-developed, advanced searching techniques especially in PubMed, Embase, Ovid, and various other biomedical databases. Proficiency in article retrieval, copyright clearance, and Library Services related subscription negotiations.  
    • Proficient in using Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
    • Knowledge of electronic data management and filing; experience with Endnote.
    • Competent in written and spoken English.
