- Researches complicated inquiries and provides appropriate responses, including customized bibliographies and information packets.
- Catalog and classify materials using the National Library of Medicine's Cataloging and Classification System and MeSH and maintains a proficiency in OCLC, NLM Classification, MeSH, AACR2, MARC, RDA, and Innovative Interfaces Sierra ILS.
- Load and maintain bibliographic records into the library ILS from other libraries, organizations such as OCLC and NLM, and from electronic resource vendors.
Tulane University Matas Library of the Health Sciences
The Research Support Librarian primarily concentrates on working with Tulane researchers and students to conduct systematic reviews and other evidence synthesis projects, from protocol development to publication, using a variety of tools and methods for searching evidence, documenting and managing data for synthesis, and reporting findings.

The scope of this position includes the organization, administration and operation of library staff and budgets across several areas including reference, research, circulation services and collection development. The Head will plan, implement and manage existing and new services focused on meeting evolving user needs.
