    The individual will perform Freedom to Operate/Patentability searches and analysis in support of R&D, and manufacturing projects. They will work with Patent Prosecution/Litigation attorneys to help file new patent application and support various diligence projects. The individual will spend the predominant amount of their time on tasks such as fact gathering, background research, analysis and presentation; the individual will use public and proprietary chemical and patent databases to conduct searches.

    This contractor position is part of US Operations and reports to the Senior Manager, Scientific & Technical Information; works with a small but dynamic team of librarians. Supports the promotional material management solution on Veeva's Vault PromoMats platform and the global eLibrary.

    Key activities:
    • Supports all content management aspects of the US instance of PromoMats Vault
    • Catalogs documents and assets according to agreed standards
    • Ensures records meet quality standards
    • Reviews data records to ensure quality standards are adhered to
    • Creates and maintains documentation
    • Develops reports and tracks performance to support Key Performance Indicators 
    • Tests workflows and identify process improvements 
    • Communicates with internal customers about PromoMats and eLibrary
    • Supports up-coming eLibrary selection and implementation project
    • Provides training opportunities for eLibrary users
    Qualifications and key attributes of this role
    • Progress towards a degree; MLS or equivalent highly desirable
    • Experience working in a pharmaceutical environment preferred
    • Ability to work independently is critical but must also be able to work as part of a team
    • Understanding of classification schemes and knowledge of metadata standards would be an advantage along with cataloging experience
    • Good communication skills and ability to write technical documentation
